Thursday Swing ft. The Djangophiles

Calling all lindy hoppers, balboa-heads, charleston nuts, and shag enthusiasts! Come on out to Portland's longest-running swing dance, bringing you fantastic live jazz music on Norse Hall's magnificent floor.

The Djangophiles perform as a quintet with David Stassens and Hyung Nam on guitar, Pete Lampe on upright bass, James Mason on violin, and Dave Evans on clarinet/sax. The band's music keeps with the tradition of the great Belgian/French guitarist Django Reinhardt. Using only acoustic instruments, The Djangophiles play the jazz guitar stylings of their band's namesake: the famous "Hot Club of France" from the 1930s.
